Caldera Information

We have some more information regarding Caldera! We're only 4 days away until the Vanguard player early release happens, but that hasn't stopped folks from wanting to know as much as they can. I scoured a few different resources and compiled them right here:

Caldera Vs Verdansk:

Surprisingly, both maps have pretty much an identical play area size. Caldera is slightly smaller as the most northern and southern shores are much thinner than Verdansk. I estimated Caldera was only 2200m wide but looks like Ace figured it out:


In terms of POIs - Caldera has right around 226 POIs and 15 named drop zones. Verdansk (84s) has 104 POIs, 16 LTM POIs, and 21 named drop zones. In addition to the amount of POIs Caldera features roughly 9 POIs per Km2 where Verdansk had a meagre 4 POIs per Km2.

The POIs in Verdansk were typically made up for current and older MW locations with additional Black Ops locations added. Later in 84 they add some remakes of iconic maps but not as POIs (example Stand Off map was located downtown on a street)

From what we can see the a lot of the POIs are unique in Caldera but there looks to be several remakes of maps ranging from original MW to WW2. From some of the interior screen shots it looks like we will be seeing iconic spots from maps built into different POIs - similar to how Stand Off was just planted seemingly in the middle of downtown.
